I'm new to RPGs. Which items do I need?
The Horror RPG Core Rulebook contains everything you need to play, other than some standard gaming supplies: pencils, scratch paper, or a notebook, and some six-sided dice (approximately 12 per character, 6 in one color and 6 in another color).

Does the Can You See Me? scenario book contain the rules for the Horror RPG?
No. If you don’t already have a copy of the Horror RPG Core Rulebook, you will need to purchase the book as part of this campaign. If you can’t purchase the rulebook or don’t wish to, you can also get the rules via Free League’s Year Zero Engine Standard Reference document (YZE SRD): https://freeleaguepublishing.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/YZE-Standard-Reference-Document.pdf

Does the game include character sheets, or do I need the Card Pack add-on?
The appendix of the book includes all of the pre-generated characters for the Can You See Them? scenario (and The Diner scenario book has its own set of pre-generated characters) along with agenda cards. You are free to photocopy and print those pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
That said, if you get the CYST Card Pack, you won’t regret it. This high-quality card set makes it easy for your to quickly distribute and organize gameplay for the Can You See Them scenario.

Why so few tiers and stretch goals?
This is our first Backerkit campaign. Although we’ve had success with Kickstarter, we felt that we should start relatively simply. Our goal is to finish the pledge manager in early February and immediately issue the digital rewards, followed by the physical rewards only a few weeks later. A big part of this is demonstrating our ability to create high-quality products that we can get into your hands fast to build support for future products. We also omitted adding too many stretch goals as we didn’t want to slow things down with creating new content or add-ons.

Is there a pledge level if I just want add-ons?
Currently, no. The add-ons are rewards offered to enhance the game and may not be as effective standing on their own. We might offer them in the future as products you can purchase separately via our website and other platforms on which we sell our products.

Will I be able to make a pledge, or upgrade my pledge, after the campaign?
We intend to make late pledges following the campaign, and backers will be able to upgrade their pledges and add add-ons in the pledge manager.
To ensure that you don’t miss out, our advice is to back the campaign even if it’s at a lower level than what you want. This will ensure that you’re in the pledge manager, where you can make upgrades if you like, after the campaign closes.

How long does it take to play through the game?
The game is designed for “cinematic” play, which means it is a self-contained story with pre-generated characters. Typically, the game will take between 3-4 sessions. The book gives details on how to run it for a longer campaign.

Is Xanthophobia Uncensored available as an add-on?
Unfortunately, no. Xanthophobia Uncensored was only available during the campaign. You may pick up the Censored version as an add-on, available in both hardcover and PDF!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
