Can You See Them? A Scenario Book for the Horror RPG.

Hey all!

Sorry for a lack of updates today. I’m currently suffering from a painful condition common among those who drank a lot of soda in their younger days (you know the one), so it’s left me bedridden.

With us selling out of the two top VHS sets and having surpassed $50k in a week—plus, I’ve mostly finished all the content—I think it’s time to consider stretch goals.

Once we hit, ohhh let’s say 850 backers, I’m going to tack on awards and goals for an additional horror scenario book tentatively titled Slashervision. At minimum, all backers will get this in PDF format.

Hey everyone!

As we're sliding into one week (with over $50,000 raised!), we only have less than 30 of the CYST + Horror VHS Collectors' Sets left. I'm guessing they'll be gone within the next 24 hours. If you're looking to get the exclusive limited edition VHS boxed set version—which comes with a VHS-sized booklet of the scenario, reference cards, dice, and more—jump on it now.

Also, we've got some stretch goals coming. I wanted to hold off on announcing stretch goals until we got a feel for this platform and made sure that the key products were ready to go once the campaign ended. Currently, I'm at about the 80% complete stages, with only formatting left. Everything is drafted and in proofing or ready for me to review and format. That means PDFs will drop almost as soon as it funds, and the pledge manager opens around the 23rd of February.

I don't want to spoil the surprise on the first stretch goal, but I will say that I've got Rick (the same artist who did the cover for The Diner and CYST) working on the cover art for it as we speak and it should be pretty flippin' awesome!

Happy Saturday, folks!

Thanks for a wonderful campaign so far! We really appreciate it.

From the beginning, we've said that this campaign would be different as we would have everything in stock and ready to go the moment the campaign ends in February. In fact, I already have all the VHS cases here and ready to go.



The bag on top are some of the test dice we purchased to go into the sets (although, those are 7-sets, so we'll be getting different dice since this is a d6 game). The plastic container has the B5 paper we'll be printing to put into the actual cases. 

As of this writing, the pins are done and the shirts are ready to go. We wrote The Diner and the Horror Core Rulebook last year, so those are good to go, too. And CYST is about 3 days away from going into proofing, which means that the PDF will be ready to issue as soon as the campaign ends. Furthermore, I should be able to estimate how many copies we'll need to print and have those orders placed, too. Our US printer tends to get us our books within 10 days of printing (might be a little slower because of the larger order), so if I can time this right, those books will show up at our fulfillment center right as the campaign pledge manager opens.

TL;DR—other than a few distant locations, everything should, in theory, be in your hands in late February to early March. 

Having said all that!

There's only 100 or so of the CYST + Horror Core VHS sets left and approximately 150 of the CYST only sets left. So if you haven't backed the campaign yet or you're not sure if you want to get those, make sure you jump on the campaign now.

The cool thing about this campaign is that, often, it feels like I'm directing a horror movie.

Originally, the plot saw the characters waking up in a storage facility without any memory of how they got there. However, we ran into a problem with that plot point.

Tom Cartos, our number-one collaborator for our fantasy stuff, has a whole series of modern maps perfect for horror. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a storage facility. Therefore, I've moved locations—to a bowling alley!



Unfortunately, fans, I want to keep the plot under wraps. Therefore, this cool image of a bowling alley is all I'm sharing right now!

Trust me, though, it's got some pretty excellent scenes set there.
