Latest Updates from Our Project:

Only 4 Days Left...
10 months ago – Mon, Feb 05, 2024 at 12:05:31 PM

Hey all!

Quick update today. The final piece of artwork for Can You See Them? just hit my inbox, so it's ready to go out and get proof samples made. So long as the proofs look groovy, we'll be ready to print as soon as this puppy funds on the 23rdish.

If you haven't backed yet, make sure you hop on this now. This campaign is loaded with stuff I won't be offering in other places, particularly some of these stretch goal/add-ons.

Backers, I've posted the art for you at the bottom of the page. Check it out!

Talk soon,

Xanthophobia Deluxe-Set Uncensored Add-on Added
10 months ago – Sun, Feb 04, 2024 at 03:03:03 PM

Hey everyone!

As requested, I've added the Uncensored Upgrade for Deluxe Set backers. You'll need to add it in after you select the Deluxe Set.

Why you'd curse yourself with such content even after warning you all multiple times, I'll never know, but here we are.

Don't blame me when you claw your own eyes out.

Two Final Stretch Goals Added To Can You See Them!
10 months ago – Sat, Feb 03, 2024 at 01:23:44 PM

Hey everyone!

Since I'm pretty far ahead on most stuff, I figured I'd in two more stretch goals. One I'm 99% sure we'll hit and the other is literally a stretch goal. But who knows? We still have seven days left.

Both of these stretch goals will be added into the Horror RPG Core Rulebook Slasher Mag edition and will likely live only in that version of the book. I have an idea where the cores for every campaign are collectible issues, like the Fangoria/Rue Morgue mags they riff on, so each one is going to be different. The rules are the same, sure, but the adventures in the back are different.

At 1,200 Backers, I'm adding Sock It To Me! A group of investigators must solve a mysterious string of mutilations happenings around town—people are having their arms torn off. Why is this happening? And who or what is doing it?

At 1,500 Backers, I'm adding 26,500 Hours. Set in Antarctica in the winter of 1982, a mysterious infection runs rampant on the earth's southernmost continent, forcing the soldiers and researchers there to evacuate via an icebreaker ship. Little do they know that the infection was carried onboard with them... and it's spreading.

If you haven't backed already, hop on it now, because these two tales may only ever appear in print in this edition. Once we do a new printing, they're gonezo.

And for those of you who have backed, thank a ton!

- Dave

PS I've added art from both of these upcoming stretch goals to the bottom of this post. Only backers will get to see it.

Content Status
10 months ago – Wed, Jan 31, 2024 at 08:29:11 AM

Hey friends,

A quick update on the status of all the content for this project:

  • Can You See Them? is through its second round of proofing. I'm waiting on one more piece of artwork from Matias to fill some negative space, and the hardcover/softcover/PDF version is done and ready to be issued for backer-proofing when the Pledge Manager goes live around the 23rd.
  • Because most of the proofing is done on that side, CYST the VHS version should be relatively easy to complete. It's just a matter of reformatting the book to fit the case's dimensions and doing a quick proof run to make sure nothing got lost in translation.
  • All of CYST's accessories are finished, having just finished up the reference cards today. I'll get John to do a quick proofing pass, but they should be off to the printers ASAP. The VHS covers are printed and stuffed into their respective boxes.
  • The Arcade is halfway drafted. While I've got the plot written out, it's just a matter of figuring out the art requests for it. Barring some sort of disaster, its PDF should also be ready by the 9th.
  • The Diner was written last year. I just need to make the reference cards for it and reformat it for VHS, and it's good to go.
  • Horror was also written last year. However, it's getting a significant overhaul on the interior content. I've got Nacho working on new art pieces for it, and so long as we hit my "secret stretch goal" (I mean... it's 1,200 backers if you really gotta know), then it should include an additional adventure titled Sock it to Me! which I've already got the art for. I'm just waiting on a new cover from Rick for it. Either way, barring some sort of disaster, it should be done around the 23rd.
  • Since Xanthophobia is still relatively fresh, I've only plotted out the content but know exactly what it's supposed to be. I suspect I'll have it drafted within the next couple of weeks and ready to go roughly around the same time as the rest of the stuff.

Remember: all this stuff is getting printed in the US and Canada, so turnaround times are going to be pretty quick. I hope to have everything in everyone's hands as early as late March/early April.

I'm going to be focusing mostly on wrapping up content, so Bree and Bob will be answering your questions from here on out. You can also reach out to them at [email protected] for anything you need.

Thank you all for your support and helping us get this cool little brand off the ground.

All-in and Deluxe Are Live. Stretch goals are complete. Thank you. I look forward to shipping these all to you.

My dear friend,

The All-in Collector's Set and the Deluxe Set are both now live.

Upgrade as you will, but read these words carefully:

Last night, I was visited by something I cannot recall, dare not recall.

I found myself possessed by this malevolent spirit. Once I regained my senses, I discovered that I unconsciously wrote down a time and date within the cover of my journal:

9 February, in the year two-thousand and twenty-four, ten o'clock in the morning.

The damned thing slipped its chant into my mind and soul, telling me that the uncensored version of Xanthophobia can be shared for as long as this literary campaign continues—but not beyond. And thank god for that.

Whilst I dread the effect the contents of this book will have upon those who fail to heed my myriad warnings and lay eyes on it, surely driving droves mad, I am bound to the will of this dark thing that clings to the corners of my mind, draining me of my willpower.

I wept. This is when I could free myself of the torment of having to share the uncensored content of that vile thing—that amoral, yellow thing!

You may purchase it as part of the all-in set. Or you may purchase it as an add-on.

Those are your only options.

There will be no digital copy.

If you value your mind and soul, DO. NOT. PURCHASE IT.

May god have mercy on all our souls.

Yours,

Chambers
