Can You See Them? A Scenario Book for the Horror RPG.

Hey all!

Hope you're having a terrific Saturday afternoon. I mentioned in my last post that I would unlock Arcade at 850 backers. I think in my haste I forgot to mention that I would be offering The Arcade as a FREE PDF for all backers in the campaign. So you'll all get a copy one way or the other. And that's only in 13 more backers (as of this writing).

Here is what the VHS collector's set will look like:



The next stretch goal will be at 1,000 backers, and that'll be this bad boy.



This minis skirmish game basically recreates the feel of 1980s/early 90s "Beat Em Up" games from the arcades.  While this isn't "horror" per se (although, a lot of the bad guys will be based on movies from that time period), it uses the same system and scratches the same nostalgic itch that a lot of my content does. 

Once CYST is funded and shipped, I plan to launch this on Backerkit.

So you all know, CYST is in proofing. PDF will most likely drop the moment the Pledge Manager opens. So that's in less than three weeks!

Hey all!

I'm finally on the mend from my recent illness, and I just got some art back from our friend, Rick Hershey, the primary artist on the CYST project. Check it out:



Since CYST is wrapped up with only proofing and formatting left to do, I've decided that the next official add-on for this project will be The Arcade! I will offer The Arcade in the following formats:

This scenario will take place in a video arcade where a cursed coin makes the arcade machine's heroes come to life in horrifying ways. Rick's working on the art for the critters, but I think you'll recognize some of the creatures in this one (for example... there may be a monstrous plumber involved).

These rewards unlock once we hit 850. I'll then have them added to the backend approximately 24-48 hours after we hit the goal.

Just a quick note today. We'd closed off the Ultimate Collector's Set, the one that comes with The Diner and CYST in the VHS Collectable cases, along with the Horror RPG Core Rulebook in the slasher mag variant, but we noticed that a few folks have dropped their pledges, which means we have some available!

Hey all!

Sorry for a lack of updates today. I’m currently suffering from a painful condition common among those who drank a lot of soda in their younger days (you know the one), so it’s left me bedridden.

With us selling out of the two top VHS sets and having surpassed $50k in a week—plus, I’ve mostly finished all the content—I think it’s time to consider stretch goals.

Once we hit, ohhh let’s say 850 backers, I’m going to tack on awards and goals for an additional horror scenario book tentatively titled Slashervision. At minimum, all backers will get this in PDF format.

Hey everyone!

As we're sliding into one week (with over $50,000 raised!), we only have less than 30 of the CYST + Horror VHS Collectors' Sets left. I'm guessing they'll be gone within the next 24 hours. If you're looking to get the exclusive limited edition VHS boxed set version—which comes with a VHS-sized booklet of the scenario, reference cards, dice, and more—jump on it now.

Also, we've got some stretch goals coming. I wanted to hold off on announcing stretch goals until we got a feel for this platform and made sure that the key products were ready to go once the campaign ended. Currently, I'm at about the 80% complete stages, with only formatting left. Everything is drafted and in proofing or ready for me to review and format. That means PDFs will drop almost as soon as it funds, and the pledge manager opens around the 23rd of February.

I don't want to spoil the surprise on the first stretch goal, but I will say that I've got Rick (the same artist who did the cover for The Diner and CYST) working on the cover art for it as we speak and it should be pretty flippin' awesome!
