Horror! More art for The Arcade coming in (and CYST is 99% done)
over 2 years ago – Tue, Jan 23, 2024 at 04:13:12 PM

Hey all,

The Arcade is this campaign's first major stretch goal, and it's already underway.

I'm waiting for Rick to finish up the art for it—monsters, portraits, etc.—and then I'll start banging out the story. Fortunately, I've already got a cool map from our friend Tom Cartos that we'll be using:

Plus, Rick's got the next couple of "Arcade characters but AWFUL" made for us, too. If you want to see those... you'll need to be a backer!

Let's just say that one is possible based on a very famous plumber, and the other is a famous two-legged, armless... aardvark... thing. That hops on cubes. Some of y'all might be too young to remember the latter, but let's just say his name begins with a Q-.

Talk to you soon!

Hey all!

A quick update today: just letting you know that we got our pro-printed VHS covers in today and tested them out. They fit perfectly and look sharp as heck. Makes me miss going to video stores and staring at horror movies.

Check 'em out:

Talk to you all soon!

Next Stretch Goal Announced (an Homage to Mork Borg!) and 1/3rd of the Arcade collector's set are already sold!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Jan 22, 2024 at 09:15:59 AM

Hey everyone!

Happy cold day. It's so cold today that I had to close my store and cancel my Call of Cthulhu session. Womp womp.

But there is some good news to be had. I landed on the next official stretch goal:

I got the idea while reading through a list of rare phobias and thought it would be cool. From there, it snowballed into a plot idea for a scenario. It's a bit strange, yeah, but should be fun. Plus, it'll be a tongue-in-cheek shoutout to some of my favorite creators, the Stockholm Kartell, creators of MorkBorg.

If you haven't already grabbed your VHS Collector's Boxed set of The Arcade, make sure you do now, as we've already sold through 1/3 of them in the first 24 hours. While it's slowed down a bit (ahhh, the ol' middle-campaign lull), we'll probably get a late push toward the end that'll gobble them up.

Expect to see more art for both The Arcade and this new idea soon.

And I guess I need to find some more VHS cases, eh?

Talk to you soon!

Backer only polls! Name these characters from The Arcade!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Jan 21, 2024 at 12:30:27 PM

Hey folks!

Thanks again for being loyal backers! With Rick creating "arcade characters with their serial numbers filed off", I figure I need some goofy names for them. I've generated six random names for our fake "round, yellow ghost-eater" man and the barrel-tossing gorilla. Pick the ones you like best!

One of the polls is attached to this update. The other is posted under the community section.

You can only vote if you're a backer. So back!

The Arcade Horror Scenario now FREE to all Backers! Check out the monsters!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Jan 21, 2024 at 11:59:17 AM

Great news, friends!

The Arcade Horror Scenario PDF is now FREE to all backers!

PLUS, we've added two different versions for purchase into the add-ons:

  • The Arcade full-color softcover book is now available for purchase.
  • We have 222 copies of the LIMITED EDITION boxed set of The Arcade available. This boxed set, like the others, comes in an authentic VHS clamshell case with a book designed to fit directly into the case. It also includes player reference cards, dice, a cloth dice bag, and The Arcade enamel pin. Get it before it sells out!

Rick's already working on some of the bad guys for the game. These totally are not based on real life arcade game characters from the 1980's, WE SWEAR.

Remember, these are only add-ons for now! So if you've already backed, you'll need to go to the add-on section and add them. They *might* still be available at the end of the campaign, but that's probably unlikely, seeing as how we've already sold over 700 VHS collectors set during this campaign!

But even if you don't back, no pressure. You'll still get the Arcade FREE so long as you've backed at least at the PDF level.

Enjoy!
