Have you found the Yellow Sign?

Hello all,

Lately, I've been dreaming about the color yellow. 🟨

Then I made this.

If you value your sanity, do not allow this thing to be made. I beg you.

GM Screen Stretch Goal Announced at 925 backers (and CYST is in Proofing)
10 months ago – Wed, Jan 24, 2024 at 12:58:58 PM

Hey hey!

Good news, everyone! CYST is officially in proofing. It ended up clocking in at a nice tight 132 pages (about 12 more than I predicted). John's got it now and should have his first round of proofs done by the end of the week, which is pretty rad, considering that we're nearly 30 days ahead of schedule.

So, to celebrate, I've added in a brand-spankin' new stretch goal for you all: the official Can You See Them? GM Screen. Instead of offering a bunch of mechanical data (there'll likely be a Horror one for that, too), it gives a rundown of the scenario with page references tied to the Hardcover/Softcover/PDF (unfortunately, the VHS will have totally different page numbers).

Since it's going to be a screen to use just while you're running CYST, I've managed to keep it relatively inexpensive, too, at only $10 as an add-on. Everyone who backs will get the screen as a PDF.

Thanks again for backing! We're dang close to hitting 1,000, which means I'll get to make Xanthophobia which it's going to be totally bonkers. After that? No clue.

Talk soon!

New Stretch Goal getting inserted later today... and what should we call this monster?
10 months ago – Wed, Jan 24, 2024 at 10:49:33 AM

Hey all!

Things are moving right along with the campaign! CYST is wrapped up and about to be handed over to John for proofing today. Once that's done, it's off to the printers to get samples made for the hardcover and softcover versions. I'll have to reformat it for the VHS copy (it's a 7.5" x 4.15" book instead of the A5 of the other two), so that'll probably take a few days. But at least the information is nice and tight!

I woke up this morning to Rick dropping more artwork in the box for The Arcade, our last two challengers.

He's now in the process of creating portraits for the characters, mostly teens. The one non-teen is a character borrowed from The Diner. If you've read the Diner, I won't spoil it for you. But I'm interested to hear your guesses!

I'm attaching a poll to this update to name the "Space Invader Crab" for the Arcade (backers only!). I've decided to name "Evil Tron Guy" Warner, as a callback to the actor who played the part in the original movie, David Warner.

Catch ya later,

Horror! More art for The Arcade coming in (and CYST is 99% done)
10 months ago – Tue, Jan 23, 2024 at 04:13:12 PM

Hey all,

The Arcade is this campaign's first major stretch goal, and it's already underway.

I'm waiting for Rick to finish up the art for it—monsters, portraits, etc.—and then I'll start banging out the story. Fortunately, I've already got a cool map from our friend Tom Cartos that we'll be using:

Plus, Rick's got the next couple of "Arcade characters but AWFUL" made for us, too. If you want to see those... you'll need to be a backer!

Let's just say that one is possible based on a very famous plumber, and the other is a famous two-legged, armless... aardvark... thing. That hops on cubes. Some of y'all might be too young to remember the latter, but let's just say his name begins with a Q-.

Talk to you soon!
